Where does Albert Pujols fit in with the Los Angeles Dodgers? That’s the question many posed after the 41-year-old slugger signed with the Dodgers last week.

Well, on his first official day with the reigning World Series champs, Pujols was in the Dodgers’ lineup, batting fourth and playing first base. And he came through with a big hit in his second at-bat.

That single provided Pujols with the 2,113th RBI of his career, the third-most in MLB history.

Pujols, wearing No. 55 after spending the first 20 years of his career in a No. 5 jersey, went 1-for-4 in the Dodgers’ win with that RBI single, a long flyout on the first pitch he saw in the first inning and a strikeout.

Pujols won’t be an everyday player for L.A. — he said he doesn’t expect to be during his introductory press conference on Monday. But he will be in the lineup again tonight versus the Diamondbacks. So far, he seems to fit in well with his new team.
