Walker has gotten off to a hot start for the Mets with a 3-1 record and 2.20 ERA in seven starts. He threw seven innings in each of his last two starts and allowed just one earned run over those 14 innings.
Atlanta is two games behind the Mets for third place in the division with a record of 19-21. After getting swept by the Toronto Blue Jays, they took two of three games against the Milwaukee Brewers in their last series. In five starts this season, Fried has a 1-1 record and 6.55 ERA, but he has pitched well since returning from the injured list. He threw a total of 11 innings his last two starts and allowed just two runs combined.
