The San Diego Padres activated Trent Grisham from the injured list Friday and aren’t wasting any time in getting him back into their lineup.
Grisham is leading off for the Padres tonight against the Texas Rangers. The 24-year-old center fielder has yet to play this season because of a hamstring injury he suffered during a spring training game on March 11.
The Padres have reinstated OF Trent Grisham from the 10-day IL and optioned OF Brian O’Grady to the alternate training site.

In 2020, his first season with the Padres, Grisham recorded 10 homers, 10 steals and 42 runs in 59 games. Only five other players reached double-digits in home runs and steals last season and they all were probable first-round picks in fantasy baseball drafts this spring: Fernando Tatis Jr., Mookie Betts, Trea Turner, Trevor Story and Jose Ramirez.
In short, Grisham is in the Padres’ lineup and he needs to be in yours immediately, too. He will face Rangers right-hander Kohei Arihara, who allowed three runs and struck out just one batter in five innings of work in his season debut last week versus the Kansas City Royals.
