Miami Marlins 1B/OF Garrett Cooper will not be in the lineup for Monday’s game vs. the St. Louis Cardinals due to Covid-19 post-vaccination symptoms. Cooper was placed on the injured list as unavailable to play. If he remains on the 10-day IL, he’d be eligible to return after his stint is over. Perhaps there will be a shorter list for players in similar situations, but it’s something new to MLB injury reporting. Jesus Aguilar will play first base and bat third in the lineup vs. the Cards.
Marlins 1B/OF Garrett Cooper had post-vaccination (#2) symptoms and will miss tonight's game against the Cardinals. He was placed on the IL due to being unavailable.

The Marlins-Cardinals game isn’t on the main slate on DraftKings, it’s added to a shorter slate featuring three games: MIA-STL, Yankees-O’s and Pirates-Reds. All three are in the 6 p.m. ET window. So if you’re playing the short slate, you’ve got a pitcher slot, two INF, two OF and two UTIL slots, different from the traditional classic lineups.
Aguilar is $3,700 and is in a decent spot in the lineup to do some damage for the Fins. The issue is he’s priced in the same range as Cooper. Adam Duvall ($4,400) and Corey Dickerson ($3,300) are both in pretty good lineup slots and are cheap options against Daniel Ponce de Leon ($9,500). The pricing for the Marlins is actually pretty favorable if we look at the rest of the slate.
Cooper went 3-of-9 in the first series of the season. He belted a solo HR and had 3 RBI in Saturday’s win over the Tampa Bay Rays. In 34 games in 2020, Cooper had an OK season, batting .283 with 6 HRs and 20 RBI.
