Easter Sunday will be jam-packed with MLB action. The weekend will be wrapped up by a 12-game slate with start times ranging from 1:05 p.m. ET to 8:37 p.m. ET. The undefeated Philadelphia Phillies will kick things off with a National League East matchup, and the final matchup of the day will be between the Chicago White Sox and Los Angeles Angels. Let’s take a look at some of the best games, fantasy storylines, and rookies to watch.
Best Games To Watch
The Braves are favored to win their division at +120 at DraftKings Sportsbook but don’t have a win yet this season. The Phillies have the fourth-best odds (+875), but are off to a hot start and swept Atlanta 4-0 on Saturday. The Braves have some of the best championship odds (+1000) in MLB, so they need to respond to avoid dropping to 0-3 on the year.
The New York Yankees dropped their season opener against the Toronto Blue Jays but rebounded to even the series at 1-1 on Saturday. Both matchups have been close so far, and the rubber game could be the most exciting one yet.
The Houston Astros and Oakland Atheltics have finished first and second in the American League West for three straight years and will face off for the first time this season on Saturday. Houston is 3-0 and is looking to take it to an A’s team that;s dropped three straight, The rivalry between these two teams in recent years could make for an interesting matchup.
Fantasy Spotlight
The Astros are killing in terms of fantasy production, so it’s no wonder they’re doing so well. Only the Los Angeles Dodgers have more hits, but Houston leads MLB with 17 runs. Michael Brantley, Alex Bregman, and Yordan Alvarez all rank inside the top 10 in fantasy points on DraftKings, and they’ll face an Oakland pitching staff that’s given up more earned runs than any team in the league. If you want to see some big-time numbers, keep a close eye on the Astros’ lineup.
Rookies to Watch
National League ROY favorite Ke’Bryan Hayes has showcased some potential and hit a home run in his season opener, but American League ROY candidate Ian Anderson is still waiting in the wings. The righ-handed Braves pitcher is set to make his first start of the year against the Phillies to wrap up the weekend and could help Atlanta gain some momentum bysecuring its first win of the season. If he shows that he’s improved his control issues, he could be force to be reckoned with in the mound.
