How to watch, what to watch for on April 25th of the 2021 MLB regular season

MLB will wrap up the weekend with a 15-game slate on Sunday that will start in the early afternoon. Seven games are set to begin before 2:00 p.m. ET, and the final matchup of the day — between the San Diego Padres and Los Angeles Dodgers — will get rolling at 10:10 p.m. ET. Let’s go over the best games, fantasy options, and rookies to watch on Sunday.

Best Games To Watch

The top two teams in the National League Central are set to face off again. The Milwaukee Brewers bounced back from the thrashing the Chicago Cubs handed them on Friday by securing a win on Saturday. The Brewers hold a two-game lead over the Cubs and are 5-3 against them this year. Brandon Woodruff and Jake Arrietta will face off in a pitching battle, so the game could be close.

The Padres kicked off their four-game series against the Dodgers with a 2-0 lead and hold the lead heading into the final leg on Sunday. They’ll start the piping hot Joe Musgrove on the mound against one of MLB’s most dynamic lineups. Musgrove notched 13 Ks in his last start and has already thrown a no-hitter this year. Who wouldn’t want to see him go toe to toe with Dustin May to bring Sunday’s game to a close?

Fantasy Spotlight

The Houston Astros crushed the Los Angeles Angels on Saturday and scored 16 runs on 18 hits. Eight of Houston’s 11 batters recorded a hit. Los Angeles’s Dylan Bundy struck out 10 Astros earlier this season but gave up two home runs and two earned runs in six innings. Houston has reached double-digits in hits three times in five meetings against the Angels this year. The Astros are healthy again — save Jose Altuve — and can do some real damage when all their personnel is available.

Rookies to Watch

The Tampa Bay Rays are a game and a half behind the Boston Red Sox in the American League East and can close the gap on Sunday with a win. Boston has already Swept Tampa Bay in a three-game series one this season, but Randy Arozarena’s four-game hitting streak has helped the Rays stay relevant. Arozarena arentered the year as the favorite to in the American League’s Rookie of the Year award and is batting .289 with 22 hits, 10 RBIs, and three home runs.
