It’s MLB Opening Day and of course there’s snow in Detroit. This made it difficult for veteran slugger Miguel Cabrera to realize he hit the first home run of the 2021 season. As a result, Miggy made the safe play and slid into second base against the Cleveland Indians despite giving the Detroit Tigers a 2-0 lead in the second inning. Great form by Miggy, hopefully he can use it later in the season to dig out some two-baggers.

Miggy hit the HR off of reigning AL Cy Young winner Shane Bieber. The Tigers entered this game as pretty big underdogs and have the early lead. It could have something to do with the weather. Bieber should have prepared though, it’s not like there isn’t any snow and cold in Cleveland later in the season. We gotta get the MLB out of Florida for Spring Training.
