Major League Baseball unveiled its full 60-game schedule on Monday, and as expected the Washington Nationals will open their World Series defense against the New York Yankees on July 23rd. First pitch is set for 7:08 p.m. ET, with Dodgers-Giants following at 10:08 p.m. ET.
Each team will play 40 divisional games. There will be 10 games over three series vs. each opportinity, with home/road games split into 7/3 or 6/4. Each team will also play 20 interleague games, with six games coming against a natural interleague rival. Each team will have six off-days after opening weekend through the end of the regular season on September 27th.
The 7/3 split has created some intriguing decisions. Seven of the ten Yankees-Red Sox games will be at Yankee Stadium, while seven of the ten Cubs-Cardinals games are at Wrigley Field. I’m sure fans of all teams will handle these kinds of splits with calm and class.
