The New York Yankees had a scary moment Saturday afternoon. Giancarlo Stanton was taking batting practice against Masahiro Tanaka, and the slugger hit a ball back up the middle that hit Tanaka in the head. It’s a difficult video to watch, so rather than embed it, you can click here to watch.

Tanaka was down for several minutes according to numerous reports at Yankee Stadium. The team later tweeted an update and it sounds like he’s doing OK and being evaluated further.

RHP Masahiro Tanaka was hit in the head with a line drive during today’s sim game. He is currently alert, responsive and walking under his own power. He is being sent to NewYork–Presbyterian Hospital for further evaluation and testing.
