How to watch the semifinals of the MLB Dream Bracket today

The MLB Dream Bracket brought together the finest of all 30 MLB teams as well as two added all-star teams to determine via simulation the best all-time franchise roster in MLB history. And today, we’re down to the final four.

MLB Dream Bracket uses simulations performed by Out of the Park Baseball 21, a baseball strategy game that has one of the most realistic ways of replicating would-be baseball games across generations.

All four of these franchises have won three rounds of best-of-seven games already, and the winner of two more will be declared the champion of the MLB Dream Bracket Presented by DraftKings.

Let’s take a look at the matchups and TV assignments for today’s games.

MLB Dream Bracket Semifinals

New York Yankees vs. Boston Red Sox

When: Friday, May 1st, 3:00 p.m. ET

In a dream matchup for both ESPN executives and everyone on the Acela Corridor, the Yanks and Sox both reached the ALCS of the tournament. The Yankees knocked off the Houston Astros, and their virtual Game 7 could not have been more wild: Yogi Berra hit a walkoff home run in the bottom of the 12th inning, and that was after Alex Rodriguez started a benches-clearing brawl. If only real life was this good!

On the actual diamond there’s only been one walkoff Game 7 home run in MLB history, by Bill Mazeroski for the Pirates in 1960. The catcher for the opposing Bronx Bombers that day? Yogi Berra.

The Red Sox only needed five games to dispatch with the Chicago White Sox. Ted Williams continued his dominant play with a .333/.391/.762 slash line and two homers and four RBIs in the series.

Cincinnati Reds vs. Los Angeles Dodgers

The Big Red Machine guys were key for Cincinnati in their 4-3 win over the St. Louis Cardinals. Pete Rose (yes, he’s allowed on this team) batted .393, Johnny Bench hit .357 with a home run, and Frank Robinson and Joe Morgan each hit two home runs during the series.

The Dodgers also had to go the distance in their seven-game win over the Milwaukee Brewers. Don Drysdale was the MVP of the series, going eight shutout innings in both Game 3 and Game 7, both saved by Eric Gagne, who is not suspended for drug use in simulated baseball... yet.

Duke Snider, Gil Hodges and Gary Sheffield combined for five home runs, 11 RBIs and 10 runs during the seven-game battle.
