Today is Round 3 of the MLB Dream Bracket Presented by DraftKings. where 32 all-time Major League Baseball teams began via computer simulation to determine a winner. We’ve got our last two in the AL, and today two more best-of-seven series begin to get down to the NLCS sides on the Senior Circuit.

The tournament uses Out Of The Park Baseball 21, a simulation engine powered by advanced statistics, ratings, and a complete database of players going back to 1871. Each matchup plays out a best-of-seven series between the best of the all-time rosters for both teams until we have a winner.

For today’s action you can enter here to win up to $500 via a free entry at DraftKings! You’ll need to correctly pick the two NL matchups as well as ten other questions more correctly than your opponents to take home the win.

Below are today’s matchups, and you can see the entire roster for all of today’s teams here. Here’s a few best bets choices for today’s games:

St. Louis Cardinals vs. Cincinnati Reds

In the last round, the Cards knocked off the Phillies in six games behind Mark McGwire, who raised his Dream Bracket numbers to .319 and a .990 OPS so far. Against the Fightins, Rogers Hornsby hit .405 with three home runs.

For the Red Legs, their 4-2 win over the Pirates saw them down 0-2 before winning four in a row. Cinci was led by Barry Larkin with .409 average and a 1.071 OPS. Joey Votto provided the power via three homers and nine RBIs.

The Cardinals might have the best remaining team in the NL by the numbers, so we think they advance over their NL Central rivals here, likely in six games.

Milwaukee Brewers vs. Los Angeles Dodgers

The Brew Crew needed to go the distance against the Cubs, but they got it done in seven games behind two dingers and 12 RBI’s from Christian Yelich. Prince Fielder hit .318 and added two circuit clouts of his own with seven knocked in as well.

The Dodgers continue to run unabated through the tournament with a five-game defeat of the Miami Marlins. Jackie Robinson was 10-for-21 with five runs scored, and Don Drysdale threw a three-hit shutout in Game 3 to keep the boys in blue rolling.

The Dodgers just have a deeper rotation led by Sandy Koufax and Clayton Kershaw, and we think they pull away here. Dodgers in five games to advance.

Will any of today’s series go to 7 games?

Exactly 25% of the 24 series we’ve had in this tournament so far have gone seven games, and since we’re only playing two today we’ll have this as a no.

How many Home Runs will Jackie Robinson have in this round?

* 0
* 1
* 2
* 3

Robinson has been one of the best players in the virtual tournament so far, but he’s not gone yard in any of the Dodgers games yet. Not known for his power outside of Ebbets Field in his career, we think #42 finds a way to get one over the fence, but no more than that.
