On Sunday morning, predictions were being made about which teams would crack the top four of the 2023 College Football Playoff. There were three undefeated Power Five champions and two one-loss Power 5 champions to choose from. People assumed the SEC would be left out, but when the dust settled, it was undefeated ACC Champion Florida State University that was excluded.

Mike Golic Sr. was vocal on X (formerly Twitter) about his top-4 and couldn’t believe the decision that the committee made. He is joined by Jess Smetana for another episode of Golic & Smetty, presented by DraftKings Network. The duo begins the episode by covering all of the aspects of the CFP’s decision in the final year of the four-team playoff.

While it is bowl season, another highlight of the next month is the crowning of a new Heisman winner. Golic Sr. and Smetana break down the cases for their top three candidates. This transitions them to discussing the options for NFL MVP as we head into Week 14 of the season.

This episode wraps with Golic and Smetty talking about the NBA In-Season Tournament and a recap of the beginning of the women’s college hoops season.
