Who will win the Lions-Rams trade bowl during Super Wild Card Weekend?

Mike Golic Jr. and Mike Golic Sr. preview the Super Wild Card Weekend matchup between Los Angeles and Detroit.

NFL: Detroit Lions at Los Angeles Rams Robert Hanashiro-USA TODAY Sports

Perhaps the biggest matchup of Super Wild Card Weekend will be a revenge game featuring Jared Goff facing off with the team that sent him away, as the Rams and Matthew Stafford travel to Detroit to face the Lions. Mike Golic Jr. and Mike Golic Sr. have you covered with a preview of the action.

As Emerson points out, it’s been a minute since the Lions have hosted a playoff game and the ticket prices reflect that reality.

Stafford spent 12 years in Detroit before being traded ahead of the 2021 season, but he said he’s not expecting anything going into this playoff game and understands that whatever love he has for the fans and they for him, he’s the bad guy coming to town for this one. And let’s not forget how the Rams dumped Goff before going on to win the Super Bowl with Stafford.

GoJo says anticipates nothing other than a rousing ovation for the return of Stafford given all he did in Detroit and the way he did it as a capital F FOOTBALL GUY.

The Lions are three-point favorites on DraftKings Sportsbook, but GoJo says he’s leaning toward picking the Rams here, especially given how they’ve played down the final stretch of the season. GoJo says both teams have solid offensive foundations, and the questions come on the defensive side of the ball. But, GoJo says Stafford could be in the position to show the difference between himself and Goff.

Senior says the could be the game of the weekend. He says he loves the offensive firepower for both teams. The big question mark will be the health of Sam LaPorta. The rookie tight end has returned to practice and if he plays he will wear a brace to help keep his knee from hyperextending again. As Senior points out, LaPorta became a monster presence for the Lions’ offense over the course of the season, so that could make a real difference.

Senior says he doesn’t know which way to go in this game with the way these teams are playing. He notes that the Rams are peaking at the right time, but that being said he’s leaning toward the home team in this one. He says he won’t be shocked either way with who wins this game, but he’s leaning toward the home team in Detroit.
