GoJo and Golic preview Monday Night Football: Who will win Eagles-Chiefs Super Bowl rematch?

Mike Golic Jr. and Mike Golic Sr. preview tonight’s Chiefs-Eagles matchup on Monday Night Football.

It’s Monday and you know what that means — another Monday Night Football preview with Mike Golic Jr. and Mike Golic Sr.!

It’s a Super Bowl rematch tonight as the Eagles take on the Chiefs. Sadly, Taylor Swift will NOT be at this game, but her parents reportedly WILL be there, meeting Travis Kelce’s parents. Just don’t come at DraftKings analyst Steve Buchanan with the Taylor Swift talk, as seen on Sunday’s edition of The Sweat.

Senior is in the Buchs camp, not necessarily attributing any spike in performance to her presence. But what does concern him is Kelce’s recent travel to follow Swift on her tour during the Chiefs’ bye week and what effect it could have. As GoJo notes, Senior is flying in the face of the numbers!

GoJo also says he isn’t buying into the bye week travel narrative. He says guys do different things with their bye weeks, and yes Travis’ travel was a bit more extensive and people make something out of it. But, GoJo says, Kelce is a future Hall of Famer who knows how to handle his business. So he struggles to see that and think it will have some effect on the outcomes. Senior admits he has no concerns, he’s wondering if the talk will start. You know that talk is coming if Kelce doesn’t play well, Senior says, even if he thinks it’s ridiculous.

In the middle of all this TSwift talk, we have a Super Bowl rematch in the middle of November, GoJo points out. He feels like people have not been blowing this game up nearly enough. Sure there were some other games and headlines going into the weekend, but two teams considered among the favorites to get back to the Big Game with big-name QBs are meeting in a rematch/preview on Monday Night Football! GoJo says that’s insane and far and away the best primetime matchup we’ve gotten this season.

Senior agrees that on paper, without question this is the best primetime matchup. Yes, all the offensive stars will be there, but you know where Senior will be focusing. That’s right, the matchups in the trenches, baby! Senior is looking forward to the battles within battles with players hitting each other for basically 70-75 plays. He understands there will likely be some big plays, but there is something about controlling the middle all the way back.

GoJo says the Eagles’ offensive line probably is the best in the NFL and Philly has the most unique offensive weapon in the game right now in the Brotherly Shove. Meanwhile, the KC defense has been the story of the NFL this season as the offense, to its own admission, hasn’t been at its best thus far. At the same time, the matchup between the Eagles’ secondary and the KC passing attack should give Mahomes and Co. an opportunity to get right.

When it comes to the Brotherly Shove, Senior has a message for the Chiefs: Don’t jump, do not leave your feet! You’ll just end up riding the wave.

Emerson brings it home with Andy Reid’s stellar record after a bye — the Chiefs coach is 21-3 during his 24-season NFL coaching career, including an 8-2 mark in Kansas City. GoJo points out that the Chiefs are three-point home favorites on DraftKings Sportsbook and says he is inclined to take the Chiefs and the points. He thinks this is a big opportunity for the Chiefs, as their other biggest matchup of the season had come in Week 1 against the Lions, which was a loss, albeit one with two big names out of the lineup. Senior, on the other hand, is going with the Eagles. He’s still waiting for the Chiefs to be able to rely on someone other than Kelce and maybe Rashee Rice.

Meanwhile, the Golics broke down all of Sunday’s NFL action with the latest edition of Mike’d Up Monday!
