Fantasy Basketball Picks Today: Top DraftKings NBA DFS Targets, Values for January 11

Stan Son gives his top studs and value plays at each position for Thursday’s fantasy basketball slate on DraftKings.

NBA: New York Knicks at Washington Wizards Geoff Burke-USA TODAY Sports

We have a four-game slate on Thursday. Luka Doncic and Dante Exum are out while Dereck Lively II and Deandre Ayton are doubtful. Keep track of all the pertinent updates at DK Live.

The Mavericks players are going to be very popular. With Doncic off the court this season, Tim Hardaway Jr. ($5,300) has seen the biggest usage bump of 7.45% to 31.4%. Jaden Hardy ($3,700) has seen a 3.37% increase to 27.6%. Kyrie Irving ($9,000) has a 26.5% usage rate. Currently, Hardy is projected to be rostered on over 50% of teams while both Irving and Hardaway are in the 30% range. Decision, decisions.

As for back-to-backs, BOS and OKC played last night. POR plays tomorrow.

DraftKings Sportsbook has one game with a total above 240 - BOS/MIL (243). There is one double-digit favorite - OKC -12.5 over POR. There is one game with a spread at or below two - PHO/LAL pick. There is one home dog - DAL.

Jalen Brunson, New York Knicks at Dallas Mavericks ($8,800) – On paper, Kyrie is a better play and he averages more FP/Min than Brunson. That said, Kyrie is going to be much more popular and there are scenarios in which Brunson and Kyrie score in the same vicinity while other Mavericks players garner more usage. Brunson is coming off a 26.75 DKFP game, but that’s because he only played 26 minutes in a blowout win over Portland. New York is a four-point road favorite, so this game should be competitive. In those scenarios, Brunson often plays close to 40 minutes while garnering a usage rate in the 30% range.

Other Options - Shai Gilgeous-Alexander ($10,400), Kyrie Irving $9,000), Anfernee Simons ($7,400)

Jaden Hardy, Dallas Mavericks vs. New York Knicks ($3,700) – Hardy is going to be the most rostered player on the slate, and I don’t think you should get cute here unless other value opens up. Hardy averages 0.91 DKFP per minute and will likely start and play over 30 minutes. In the prior three games that Luka has missed, Hardy started and played 33, 31 and 25 minutes, producing 45.25, 26.5 and 17.5 DKFP. The range is wide but he’s just too cheap for the expected role and playing time.

Other Options - Tim Hardaway Jr. ($5,300), Donte DiVincenzo ($5,100), Vasilije Micic ($3,000)

Anthony Davis, Los Angeles Lakers vs. Phoenix Suns ($10,300) – Davis has disappointed somewhat recently, going for only 40 DKFP in three of the last five games. Prior to that, he had gone for over 50 DKFP in 11-of-12 games with five over 60, three above 70 and a high of 81. He bounced back on Tuesday with 66.75 against Toronto and should be heavily involved at both ends of the court tonight. This game has a healthy total of 238.5 and the spread is a pick ‘em, so it should be a tightly-contested affair. Davis has played at least 39 minutes in five of the last six games and is averaging 1.45 DKFP per minute on the season.

Other Options - LeBron James ($9,700), Jalen Williams ($7,200)

Tim Hardaway Jr., Dallas Mavericks vs. New York Knicks ($5,300) – As mentioned in the opener, THJ sees the biggest usage bump of 7.45% with Luka off the court. THJ will huck and chuck and possibly crumble the house with all the bricks. That said, he can get scorching hot and put up a 40-burger. The range of outcomes is extremely wide because THJ is so dependent on scoring, but the price is palatable and he should get a ton of opportunities. This ties in somewhat to my slight Kyrie fade as well.

Other Options - Grayson Allen ($5,700)

Isaiah Hartenstein, New York Knicks at Dallas Mavericks ($6,500) – Since replacing Mitchell Robinson, Hartenstein has been fantastic. Over the last five games, he’s gone for 34.3, 47, 39.5, 44.3 and 34 DKFP, while mostly playing minutes in the high 30s. He only received 28 on Tuesday due to a blowout. Dallas will likely be without Lively and Dwight Powell ($4,200) is no beast down low, so Hartenstein should be able to continue doing his thing. While the rebounding prowess has been impressive, it’s been the contributions in the defensive categories that have been most eye-opening. He’s racked up 3, 4, 2, 0 and 3 steals while blocking 1, 2, 2, 5 and 3 shots.

Other Options - Anthony Davis ($10,300), Julius Randle ($8,800), Chet Holmgren ($7,900)

Dwight Powell, Dallas Mavericks vs. Memphis Grizzlies ($4,200) – Dereck Lively has missed the last three games, so Powell has started and played 28, 26 and 22 minutes. That translated to 24.5, 24.8 and 18.5 DKFP. With Lively likely out again, Powell should start again and see the same workload. Powell averages 0.86 DKFP and he should score close to 20 DKFP.

Other Options - Christian Wood ($4,300)
