We begin the final week of November with a small five-game NBA slate, yet that doesn’t mean there isn’t room for tradition. As is customary, LeBron James ($9,700; calf) is questionable for this evening’s proceedings due to the peskiest calf contusion in the history of mankind. It’s good to have constants in life, right?
Let’s dive in and find some values on the hardcourt.
SF/PF Toumani Camara, Portland Trail Blazers at Indiana Pacers, $4,300
Camara’s role can fluctuate wildly on a game-to-game basis and the rookie is only averaging 0.63 DKFP per minute this season, yet the forward seems locked into Chauncey Billups’ starting lineup and he has flashed a very intriguing DFS ceiling. To wit, Camara produced a season-high 27.25 DKFP against the Jazz on November 22, while he’s also exceeded the 35-minute mark in two of his last five contests. If Camara sees anything close to that type of run on Monday, he’ll be hard pressed to not make a serious impact. The matchup is simply too good. The Pacers are fantasy gold in 2023-24. That’s what happens when you combine the league’s fastest pace (104.4) with its second-worst defense by points allowed per 100 possessions (120.0). Portland likely won’t win tonight, but they’ll be able to score.
SG/SF Max Christie, Los Angeles Lakers at Philadelphia 76ers, $3,900
While the aforementioned James is a near-lock to play through his questionable tag, the Lakers are still bombarded by injuries at the moment. Jarred Vanderbilt (heel), Gabe Vincent (knee) and Rui Hachimura (nose) are all currently sidelined with long-term ailments, while Cam Reddish ($4,700; groin) has missed the team’s past two games. That’s meant the first two starts of the season for Christie, while it’s also forced Darvin Ham to utilize a microscopic eight-man rotation. If Reddish sits once again, expect Christie to be back in the starting five, where he’s viable even in an unappealing matchup. The sophomore logged 33.2 minutes his last time out, finishing with 12 points, five rebounds and 23.25 DKFP. In fact, Christie’s registered at least 20.0 DKFP three of the last four times he’s played at least 20.0 minutes.
C Omer Yurtseven, Utah Jazz vs. New Orleans Pelicans, $4,500
The Jazz squared off with this same Pelicans squad on Saturday night, losing a close one 105-100. Neither Lauri Markkanen ($8,500; hamstring) or Jordan Clarkson ($7,400; illness) was available for that contest, which opened up a ton of minutes and usage on Utah’s roster. Unfortunately, Will Hardy was annoyingly socialist about divvying up those minutes, as nine of the 10 players who appeared in the game for the Jazz logged at least 21.0. In fact, Collin Sexton ($5,100) ended up leading the team with just 28.2. Based on reports from Sunday’s practice session, it appears that Clarkson is trending towards a return on Monday, while Markkanen is not. If that is indeed the case, look for Yurtseven to draw his second consecutive start. The big man has been solid when given the opportunity to play in 2023-24, averaging 1.05 DKFP per minute.
