Who’s improving, who’s falling in Super Bowl 58 odds after Week 18

The regular season is done. We break down what it all means for Super Bowl 58 odds.

With Week 18 all wrapped up, the playoff bracket has been set. The Ravens and the 49ers clinched the No. 1 seeds and the byes in the AFC and NFC, respectively. With just 14 teams remaining in the race to the Super Bowl, we take a look at how this week’s performances affected each team’s odds for the title game.

Who had the best Week 18 performance?

Several top teams opted to sit their starters for a rest week. The Cowboys grabbed a dominant win over the Commanders to clinch their division and the No. 2 seed. The Saints gave their best shot at a playoff berth with a 48-17 win over the Falcons, but other games’ results kept them out of contention. The Bills had perhaps the most significant win in terms of playoff placement this week. Their 21-14 victory over the Dolphins bumped Buffalo from No. 6 to No. 2 in the AFC.

Which favorites have work to do?

It’s difficult to judge some of the favorites from this week’s performances alone, given that several teams chose to rest their starters ahead of the postseason. The Chiefs’ offense is not looking up to par with last year’s team, so if they have a goal of repeating last year’s championship, they have to step things up offensively.

Which teams with worse odds have the best chance to win the Super Bowl?

The Joe Flacco-led Browns have been quite the surprise toward the end of this season. Cleveland won four games in a row before falling to the Bengals in Week 18, having already clinched their Wild Card berth. They could be a dark horse at +3500. The Lions sit at +1800, and if they can find the same rhythm that they had earlier this season as they head into the playoffs, I like Detroit to make a deep run. The Houston Texans could also make things interesting at +3500.
