Suns vs. Clippers pick against the spread, over/under for Monday, January 8

We go over some of the best betting options for Monday’s matchup between the Suns and Clippers.

Los Angeles Clippers v Phoenix Suns

Update: Durant is probable for the Suns, as is Gordon. Everyone else is in for both teams. The Clippers are now 5.5-point favorites and the total is 233. I like Suns +5.5 and the over.

The Phoenix Suns (19-17) meet the Los Angeles Clippers (22-13) in the second night of a back-to-back set for both teams Monday evening. The Suns and Clippers are both coming off losses Sunday, adding a bit more to this division matchup. Phoenix and Los Angeles met a few days earlier, with the Clippers winning 131-122.

Kevin Durant and Bradley Beal didn’t play in that loss for the Suns, and their statuses are worth monitoring for this game. On the Clippers’ side, we’ll see if they rest anyone on the back-to-back set. An official injury report will be available at 4 p.m. ET.

At this time, the Clippers are 6.5-point favorites according to DraftKings Sportsbook with the total coming in at 230. Los Angeles is -245 on the moneyline while Phoenix is +200.

Suns vs. Clippers, 10:30 p.m. ET

Pick ATS: Suns +6.5

This line says the oddsmakers believe Durant won’t play as he deals with a hamstring injury. However, Devin Booker and Beal should be good to go. The Suns are 4-6 ATS as the underdog this season, with a 3-3 ATS mark as the road underdog. Phoenix is 3-2 ATS on no rest, while the Clippers are 2-3 ATS in the same category. As long as Booker and Beal both suit up, I like the Suns to cover in this game.

Over/Under: Over 230

The first meeting between these teams went well over this number. Both the Suns and Clippers are 3-2 to the over on the second night of a back-to-back set, largely because these teams haven’t rested their stars much. I like tonight’s matchup to go over this line.
