The 2024 NFL Playoffs kick off this coming weekend with the Wild Card Round, and we get a fascinating matchup in the NFC. The No. 3 Detroit Lions will host the No. 6 Los Angeles Rams. The game times are still being sorted out, but opening odds have posted.

The Lions have opened at DraftKings Sportsbook as a four-point favorite. The point total is installed at 51. The Lions are -185 on the moneyline while the Rams are +154.

This is a fascinating matchup because of the two quarterbacks involved. Matthew Stafford and Jared Goff have been key to the success of the Rams and Lions, respectively. However, they were traded for each other in March 2021. The Rams and Lions were both looking to make a change and this has turned into a win-win for both teams. The Rams won the Super Bowl in Stafford’s first year while Goff has returned to the form of his middle Rams years.

The Lions finished the 2023 season with a 12-5 record and won the NFC North. They stumbled a bit in the second half of the season but won three of their final four games as they head into the playoffs. The Rams finished the season with a 10-7 record and claimed a wild card berth. They won seven of their final eight games to close the regular season.

Here’s a look at the opening odds of this matchup between the Rams and Lions in the first round of the 2024 NFL Playoffs.
