Who could the 49ers play in the Divisional Round in the 2024 NFL Playoffs?

Time to figure out who the San Francisco 49ers could potentially play in the Divisional round after they come out of their bye in the 2024 NFL Playoffs.

The San Francisco 49ers wrapped up the 2023-24 regular season on Sunday when they lost to the Rams 21-20 in Week 18. They were able to rest or limit several starters after clinching the No. 1 seed in the NFC a week ago.

The 49ers rolled through this season minus a couple hiccups. They won five straight to open the season, but then lost three straight amidst injuries to Deebo Samuel and Trent Williams. Their return after the bye sparked a six-game win streak before losing an ugly one to the Ravens. The 49ers dominated the NFC West and the Eagles, Cowboys, and Lions all stumbled enough to allow the 49ers to secure home field advantage ahead of Week 18.

Potential 49ers Divisional Round matchups

The only teams the 49ers definitely will not face in the Divisional Round are the Dallas Cowboys and the Detroit Lions. The NFL reseeds each round from highest to lowest, which means the 49ers could not potentially play the No. 2 or No. 3 seed until the NFC Championship.

That means the 49ers will play one of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Philadelphia Eagles, Los Angeles Rams, or Green Bay Packers. The Rams will face the Lions while the Packers will face the Cowboys in the Wild Card Round.
