The Los Angeles Rams have had a wild season but find themselves back in the playoffs. It wasn’t too long ago the Rams were at the top of the NFL as Super Bowl champions. After a disappointing 2022, Los Angeles has a chance to shock some people in the NFC playoffs as a Wild Card team in 2023. The Rams have clinched a spot going into Week 18 vs. the San Francisco 49ers and will rest players. So that could mean Los Angeles gets either the No. 6 or No. 7 seed in the NFC playoffs. We’ll go over their possible opponents in the first round.

Update — The Rams pulled out the win in Week 18 and have the No. 6 seed in the NFC. So Los Angeles will go on the road to Motown to take on the Detroit Lions in the Wild Card Round.

Most likely Wild Card Round opponent

If everything kind of stands pat and the Cowboys win in Week 18, the seeding shouldn’t change much. That would mean the Rams get the No. 6 seed and would likely face the Detroit Lions in the first round of the playoffs.

Possible Wild Card Round opponents

If things get a little wacky, there are a few scenarios that could play out. If the Cowboys somehow lose, that would mean the Eagles have a shot at the No. 2 seed and the NFC East title. It also could mean the Lions move up to the No. 2 seed with a win and losses by Dallas and Philly. If that’s the case, the Rams could end up facing the Cowboys in the first round of the playoffs if they’re the No. 3 seed.

How have the Rams fared against these teams this season?

The Rams lost to both the Eagles and Cowboys this season. Los Angeles didn’t have RB Kyren Williams for the matchup vs. Dallas. The Rams only lost to the Eagles 23-14 in a tough-fought game. Los Angeles was blown out by the Cowboys earlier in the season. The Rams didn’t play the Lions in the regular season.
