The New York Giants took on the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 18 of the NFL season. Fans likely wanted a higher draft pick but won’t complain too much about a dominant win over the Eagles that knocked them out of contention for the NFC East division title. With the win and results from around the league, the Giants will now pick No. 6 overall in the 2024 NFL Draft.
Giants draft order: 6th pick
If the Giants had lost in Week 18, it likely would have been enough for them to be on the clock at No. 5 instead of No. 6.
Giants mock draft: Potential first-round pick
1.06 — Rome Odunze, WR, Washington
This is a tough spot for New York, and the win in Week 18 could have really cost them. With no trades allowed, the current assumption is that three quarterbacks could be taken in a row, and then Arizona and Los Angeles could take wide receivers. The Giants don’t have a use for tight end Brock Bowers with Darren Waller’s contract, so the next two best players available would likely be offensive tackles, a strong position for New York.
The Giants could go with Alabama EDGE rusher Dallas Turner, but I think even if Marvin Harrison Jr. and Malik Nabers are off the board, they stick with wide receiver. Washington wide out Rome Odunze is mocked on the fringe of the top 10, but a strong NFL Combine would help his draft stock and could see him bumped up to the No. 6 overall pick to give quarterback Daniel Jones another weapon.
