The Green Bay Packers host the Chicago Bears on Sunday to close out the 2023-24 NFL regular season. The Week 18 matchup of historic rivals offers intrigue in the closing days of the playoff push.

Update — The Packers defeated the Bears 17-9 in Week 18 to clinch a playoff berth.

The Packers are 8-8 and sitting in seventh place in the NFC standings. They are tied with the Seahawks and Saints, but hold the strength of victory tiebreaker over the Seahawks and the conference record tiebreaker over the Saints.

They moved into the final wild card berth last week after they beat the Vikings and the Seahawks lost to the Steelers. The Packers can clinch a playoff berth in Week 18 with a win over the Bears. If they lose, they can clinch a playoff berth with a Vikings loss or tie against the Lions, a Seahawks loss to the Cardinals and either a Bucs loss to the Panthers or a Saints loss to the Falcons.

Tiebreaker implications

The strength of victory tiebreaker involves the combined record of all teams that were beaten in that schedule. The Packers SoV is .461 (59 wins) while the Seahawks is .414 (53 wins).
