The Milwaukee Bucks (25-10) will look to keep their winning ways going when they face the Houston Rockets (17-16) for the second time this season. The Bucks won the first meeting between these squads 128-119. Milwaukee is coming off a win over the Spurs Thursday, while Houston is on the second night of a back-to-back set after losing to the Timberwolves Friday.
The Bucks are clean on the day-to-day injury front. The statuses of Fred VanVleet, Jabari Smith Jr. and Jalen Green won’t be known until later in the day. Dillon Brooks likely remains out for the Rockets with an oblique strain.
The Bucks are 6.5-point favorites at DraftKings Sportsbook, with the total set at 237.5. Milwaukee is -258 on the moneyline while Houston is +210.
Bucks vs. Rockets, 8 p.m. ET
Pick ATS: Bucks -6.5
The numbers don’t necessarily back Milwaukee in this spot. The Bucks are 2-6 ATS with a rest advantage, while the Rockets are 4-2-1 ATS with a rest disadvantage and 2-2-1 ATS on no rest. However, the Bucks likely want to make a statement after barely edging the lowly Spurs two days ago. The Rockets will also want to avoid getting blown out again but will have some lingering fatigue and have no answer for Giannis Antetokounmpo. Barring a superhuman performance from either Green or Smith, I like the Bucks to comfortably win in this contest.
Over/Under: Under 237.5
The Bucks are one of the best offensive teams in the league, trending 22-13 to the over. The Rockets are on the opposite end of the spectrum as one of the top defensive teams, going 14-18-1 to the over. Home unders are popular for Houston, with the team holding a 8-11-1 mark to overs at home. This game could get away from the Rockets a bit on the second night of a back-to-back, and the Bucks might call off the stars late. Even though the first meeting went over this number, I like the under to hit tonight.
