Nuggets vs. Warriors pick against the spread, over/under for Thursday, January 4

We go over some of the best betting options for Thursday’s matchup between the Nuggets and Warriors.

The Denver Nuggets (24-11) and Golden State Warriors (16-17) will both be looking to keep their winning ways going when they meet Thursday evening in the Bay Area. The Nuggets and Warriors have met twice this season already, with Denver winning both meetings but Golden State covering the spread twice.

Reggie Jackson is probable for the Nuggets. Draymond Green remains suspended for Golden State, while Gary Payton II suffered another injury and is out.

The Nuggets are 3.5-point favorites at DraftKings Sportsbook, with the total set at 235.5. Denver is -155 on the moneyline, while Golden State is +130.

Nuggets vs. Warriors, 10 p.m. ET

Pick ATS: Warriors +3.5

Golden State has been maddeningly inconsistent this season. After it appeared the Warriors were getting their home mojo back with eight straight wins at Chase Center, they dropped two in a row to start an important home stand. The Nuggets are 10-8 straight up on the road and 7-11 ATS, so they are slightly more vulnerable here than if they were at home.

The Warriors are 9-4 ATS as an underdog this season, and 2-1 ATS as a home underdog. They’ve covered the spread both times against the Nuggets this season and while they’ll be hoping for the outright win, back them to at least get a third cover Thursday night.

Over/Under: Under 235.5

The Nuggets are 7-11 to the over as the road team, while the Warriors are 11-7 to the over as the home team. Overall, Golden State trends more towards the over at 19-14 while Denver hits unders more with a 13-22 mark to the over.

Both previous meetings between these sides went under this number, so I’ll stick with that trend and take the under in this game.
