The 2024 playoff bracket has been set, and several Wild Card round matchups this weekend will feature rematches of regular season games. We take a look at how these teams fared against each other earlier this season.

2024 NFL Playoffs: Repeat Matchups

No. 6 Dolphins vs. No. 3 Chiefs

The Dolphins are headed to Kansas City to take on the bitter Midwestern cold front coming in this weekend. Earlier this season, the Chiefs beat Miami 21-14. The Dolphins historically have not done well in the cold, and are just 1-5 this season against teams with winning records. The Chiefs have a winning record, and the forecast is calling for temperatures below 0°F — neither a good sign for the Dolphins to emerge from this one with a different result than their November matchup. The Chiefs are 4-point favorites.

No. 4 Texans vs. No. 5 Browns

The Texans fell to the Browns, 36-22, in their regular-season matchup. The Texans had home-field advantage, as they will again in this matchup, but quarterback CJ Stroud was still dealing with an injury and was sidelined. Stroud, who is in the running for a Rookie of the Year award, will return here, making this a whole new ballgame for Cleveland. The Joe Flacco era in Cleveland has been quite a pleasant surprise for Browns fans, but the Texans should be able to keep this one significantly closer and advance with a win here. The Browns enter as 2.5-point favorites.

No. 4 Bucs vs. No. 5 Eagles

The Eagles defeated the Bucs 25-11 toward the start of the 2023 season. However, Tampa Bay is facing a very different Eagles team. Philadelphia lost five of six games to end the season, with the only win in that stretch coming against the New York Giants. Baker Mayfield has proven to be a good fit this season with the Buccaneers and has noticeably improved throughout the season. The Eagles can still win this matchup, but with the stakes at hand, I think we’re going to see a much closer game than the September matchup in Tampa. The Eagles are 3-point road favorites at DraftKings Sportsbook.
