In his last ring appearance, he beat Anthony Yarde last January by way of 8th-round TKO. Prior to that bout, Beterbiev won the WBO title making quick work of Joe Smith Jr. with a second-round KO victory in June 2022.

Smith, 33, previously held the WBA super middleweight title and was a force in the 168-pound division. He earned two impressive title defenses, with wins over Hassan N’Dam N’Jikam and John Ryder. In the biggest fight of his career, Smith fell short to Canelo Alvarez in December 2020, losing by unanimous decision. He has regrouped and won his last two fights since that defeat, including a WBC light heavyweight title eliminator bout.

Mbill is the betting favorite with -1200 odds to win, while Murdock is a +700 underdog, per DraftKings Sportsbook.
