The Tampa Bay Buccaneers will welcome the Philadelphia Eagles to town for an NFC Wild Card game. The Bucs won their third NFC South divisional title in a row, largely from the play of quarterback Baker Mayfield, who has experienced a career resurgence. Unfortunately, the Bucs QB is banged up dealing with both an ankle and a rib injury heading into the Wild Card round.

Mayfield played in all 17 games of the regular season. He finished with 4,044 passing yards with 28 touchdowns and 10 interceptions. Mayfield isn’t a pure dual-threat quarterback, but has the ability to scramble and added 163 yards and a touchdown on 62 carries. If he can’t go, Tampa Bay will have to decide between Kyle Trask and John Wolford taking his place.

Baker Mayfield injury updates

Friday update: Mayfield was upgraded to limited in practice on Friday. Local reporters said that he looked normal, but will have one more practice ahead of Monday’s game.

Thursday update: Mayfield didn’t practice on Thursday. For now, this isn’t concerning, as the Buccaneers don’t play until Monday, so the QB has two more days to get back out on the practice field.
