The New York Knicks (22-15) will look to keep their winning ways going when they visit the Dallas Mavericks (22-16) Thursday. The Knicks have won their last five games after acquiring forward OG Anunoby from the Raptors, while the Mavericks hope to bounce back from a bad loss to the Grizzlies. This will be the first meeting between these teams this season.
Mitchell Robinson remains sidelined for New York, though there is optimism he can return at some point this season. The Mavericks will be without Luka Doncic and Dante Exum, while Maxi Kleber and Dereck Lively are considered doubtful. Grant Williams is questionable for this contest.
The Knicks are 4-point favorites according to DraftKings Sportsbook, with the total coming in at 233.5. New York is -166 on the moneyline while Dallas is +140.
Knicks vs. Mavericks, 8:30 p.m. ET
Pick ATS: Knicks -4
New York has been one of the best teams, if not the best team, in the league over the last five games when looking at record and point differential. The Knicks have been tied with or led their opponents for 211 out of the 240 minutes in that span, so it’s safe to say trading for Anunoby has worked out at the moment. The Mavericks have gone 1-3 in games without Doncic, only beating the lowly Trail Blazers in a blowout.
The Knicks have covered the spread in five straight and get to face a Dallas team without its best player and several key rotation guys. I’ll take New York to cover in this one.
Over/Under: Under 233.5
After logging eight straight overs during the first half of December, the Knicks have trended towards the under lately. They are 3-9 to the over since December 18 but more importantly, they’ve gone under their totals every time during this current five-game streak. The Mavericks have gone under their totals in four of the last five games and will be without their best player. I like the under tonight.
