The Florida State Seminoles have their quarterback for 2024. DJ Uiagalelei announced on Monday that he will be heading to Tallahassee for the upcoming season. Uiagalalei began his career at Clemson in 2020, where he spent three years before transferring to Oregon State in 2023.
This season, he passed for over 2,600 yards, 21 touchdowns, and seven interceptions. He added another six TDs on the ground. Oregon State lost both its conference and its head coach upon the end of the 2023 season, during which they went 8-4 before losing the Sun Bowl with a depleted roster.
Since Florida State has a protected ACC rivalry with Clemson, so Uiagalelei will face his former team in 2024. The date of the game has yet to be decided. This marks the QB’s final year of eligibility.
After going 12-0 and winning the ACC Championship, Florida State was denied a spot in the College Football Playoff. They lost to Georgia, 63-3, in the Orange Bowl.
