Champions League draw: Live updates, results, groups for 2023-24 competition

The UEFA Champions League draw for the 2023-24 competition will take place Thursday, with defending champions Manchester City looking to be set up favorably again as they attempt to defend their crown.

The draw will place teams from four pots into groups. All the teams in Pot 1 will be assigned a group, followed by the teams in Pots 2, 3 and 4. Two teams from the same country association won’t be in the same group, so Barcelona vs. Real Madrid and Man City vs. Arsenal will have to wait until after the group stage if those teams advance.

Man City and Sevilla, last year’s Europa League champion, are in Pot 1. Arsenal, Real Madrid and Manchester United headline Pot 2, while AC Milan could be a bit of a wild card in Pot 3. Union Berlin is a team in Pot 4 no top club wants to see in their group.
