MLB lineups for Wednesday, May 31: Wander Franco sitting for the Rays

The MLB transaction wheel has already started spinning early on Wednesday, May 31, as Riley Greene has been placed on the IL with a stress fracture in his left leg. There are sure to be plenty more news items to come, and our daily lineup report will keep you up to date on who’s starting and who’s sitting so you can set your DFS and fantasy baseball lineups with confidence.

MLB starting lineups: Wednesday, May 31

Texas Rangers vs. Detroit Tigers, 1:10 p.m. ET

Corey Seager gets a day at DH with Josh Smith filling in at shortstop and Bubba Thompson spelling Robbie Grossman in left.

Riley Greene’s injury has forced AJ Hinch to get creative with the lineup today, with Zack McKinstry leading off and playing right field and Akil Baddoo moving up to the second spot. Jake Marisnick will replace Greene in center while Tyler Nevin gets a start at DH over Miguel Cabrera.

Los Angeles Angels vs. Chicago White Sox, 2:10 p.m. ET

Mickey Moniak is back atop the order for L.A. as Taylor Ward shifts over to right field and Hunter Renfroe gets a day off. Livan Soto will start at second over Luis Rengifo and Brandon Drury.

Eloy Jimenez serves as the DH as Jake Burger sits and Gavin Sheets starts in right.

Tampa Bay Rays vs. Chicago Cubs, 2:20 p.m. ET

Wander Franco and Josh Lowe will both sit on Wednesday afternoon as Manuel Margot and Jose Siri take center and right, respectively, while Taylor Walls gets the nod at short.

No Christopher Morel today as Nico Hoerner gets a day at DH with Miles Mastrobuoni filling in at second.

Cleveland Guardians vs. Baltimore Orioles, 3:05 p.m. ET

Gabriel Arias gets a start in right today with Cam Gallagher behind the plate and Andres Gimenez down to seventh in the lineup.

Aaron Hicks will make his first start as an Oriole in center field, flanked by Ryan O’Hearn and Ryan McKenna as Austin Hays gets a day off. Anthony Santander will serve as the DH while Adam Frazier plays second and moves up to the leadoff spot.

Atlanta Braves vs. Oakland Athletics, 3:37 p.m. ET

Travis d’Arnaud spells Sean Murphy behind the plate with Marcell Ozuna at DH and Eddie Rosario in left.

Brent Rooker is back in the lineup for the first time in three games, hitting second and starting in left. Ramon Laureano gets the nod in right while Aledmys Diaz serves as the DH and Seth Brown sits against a lefty.

Pittsburgh Pirates vs. San Francisco Giants, 3:45 p.m. ET

Bryan Reynolds returns to the lineup with Connor Joe at first and Chris Owings at short against lefty Alex Wood.

Wilmer Flores will serve as the DH today with Blake Sabol getting a start in left as Michael Conforto gets a day off.

Washington Nationals vs. Los Angeles Dodgers, 4:10 p.m. ET

Lane Thomas leads off once again with Joey Meneses at DH, Corey Dickerson in left and Alex Call in center.

Chris Taylor and Trayce Thompson spell Jason Heyward and David Peralta in the outfield with a lefty on the mound, while Miguel Rojas gets a start at short.

San Diego Padres vs. Miami Marlins, 6:40 p.m. ET

Ha-Seong Kim slides into the leadoff spot with Brandon Dixon at first, Jake Cronenworth at second and Nelson Cruz serving as the DH.

Bryan de la Cruz leads off once again with Jorge Soler as the DH, Yuli Gurriel at first and Jonathan Davis in center.

Milwaukee Brewers vs. Toronto Blue Jays, 7:07 p.m. ET

Abraham Toro gets a start at third with Owen Miller at second and Brice Turang at short as Victor Caratini catches to give William Contreras a day at DH.

Kevin Kiermaier returns to the lineup after a few days off with back soreness, while Cavan Biggio starts in right and George Springer serves as the DH.

Cincinnati Reds vs. Boston Red Sox, 7:10 p.m. ET

Kevin Newman will lead off and play third as Nick Senzel will start in left after missing yesterday’s game with a sore knee. Stuart Fairchild gets the nod in right while Jose Barrero plays center and Jake Fraley and TJ Friedl both sit.

Masataka Yoshida will serve as the DH as Rob Refsnyder gets a start in left and Alex Verdugo returns in right.

Philadelphia Phillies vs. New York Mets, 7:10 p.m. ET

Kody Clemens gets another start at first with Edmundo Sosa at third and Alec Bohm sitting.

Francisco Alvarez and Mark Vientos both sit against a righty, with Daniel Vogelbach serving as the DH and Tomas Nido behind the plate. Brett Baty starts at third and bats fifth with Mark Canha in left.

Minnesota Twins vs. Houston Astros, 8:10 p.m. ET

Donovan Solano gets a start at first base with Alex Kirilloff in left and Joey Gallo serving as the DH. Willi Castro will play third with Kyle Farmer at short as Carlos Correa continues to nurse his injured foot.

No Jose Altuve for Houston, as Mauricio Dubon will lead off and play second with Jake Meyers in center and Chas McCormick in left.

Colorado Rockies vs. Arizona Diamondbacks, 9:40 p.m. ET

Some shakeups for Colorado, as both Kris Bryant and Jurickson Profar will sit. Randal Grichuk leads off and gets the nod in right field, with Nolan Jones in left and the recently recalled Elehuris Montero at first.

Pavin Smith will serve as the DH and lead off for Arizona with Josh Rojas at third, Geraldo Perdomo at short and Jake McCarthy in right.

New York Yankees vs. Seattle Mariners, 9:40 p.m. ET

Yankees TBA

Business as usual for Seattle, with Taylor Trammell at DH and Kolten Wong starting over Jose Caballero at second.
