Live updates from Wrestlemania 39 Night 2

Follow along as DK Nation speaks about all the happenings during Night 2 of Wrestlemania from SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, CA.

Wrestling: WWE-SummerSlam Joe Camporeale-USA TODAY Sports

The WWE has taken over southern California this weekend for its marquee event of the year with Wrestlemania 39 coming live from SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, CA. The two-night event will kick off tonight with Night 1 beginning at 8 p.m. ET and streaming on Peacock.

Wrestlemania is the company’s biggest show of the year and will be a two-night event for a fourth year in a row. Everything from high-stakes title fights to grudge matches to celebrity showcases are on the card for this year’s show as the worldwide audience will be treated to a grand spectacle. And there will be an added flare to this year’s show with its Hollywood theme in the greater Los Angeles area.

Tonight’s show will be headlined by the epic main event showdown featuring undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns putting his belts on the line against Cody Rhodes. DraftKings Sportsbook is offering you a chance to win DK Dollars by answering questions about the this showdown in a $25,000 free-to-play pool.

Other title matches included Raw Women’s Champion Bianca Belair defending against Asuka and Intercontinental Champion Gunther taking on Drew McIntyre and Sheamus in a triple-threat match. We’ll also get Finn Balor vs. Edge in Hell in a Cell and Brock Lesnar clashing with the giant Omos.

We’ll keep track of tonight’s show and offer our thoughts below.

11:55 p.m. ET: I’m still trying to process what we just saw. They led us to believe this was the fall of the Bloodline and even had the Usos drop the straps last night. And yet, Roman Reigns is inevitable.

So now what? Cody Rhodes is still the most over babyface in the company, but him losing here just took some of the wind out of his sails. Who could possibly beat him now? There’s no one left. I guess we’ll have to seem but man. They hooked me and that was a letdown. Pro wrestling baby!

Undisputed WWE Universal Championship - Roman Reigns (c) vs. Cody Rhodes

Winner: Roman Reigns via pinfall

11:42 p.m. ET: Alright, I sat in stunned silence for a solid five minutes. First off, this was the greatest main event in Wrestlemania history. This isn’t me being a prisoner of the moment, it was that damn good.

Cody Rhodes broke out the Bionic Elbow in honor of his father Dusty. He broke out the drop down punch in honor of his brother Goldust. He hit Reigns with multiple Cross Rhodes. The crowd was ready to come unglued and then...Solo Sikoa came back and hit Rhodes with a Samoan Spike. Reigns dropped him with a spear and 1-2-3, the champ retains and will most likely get to 1,000 days as the champ.

11:37 p.m. ET: Oh my God. Reigns retained.

11:32 p.m. ET: Stunner and a Helluva Kick to Reigns! Both men down!

11:31 p.m. ET: Ref bump and here’s the Usos with the 1D. But now Owens and Zayn are here!

11:27 p.m. ET: If you’re wondering how Michael Cole is calling this match.

11:23 p.m. ET: We got a Pedigree, a Rock Bottom, and now a Figure Four. Both guys paying tributes to influences in their career.

11:21 p.m. ET: Everyone is on the edge of their seats here. The near falls keep getting more dramatic.

11:17 p.m ET: Solo got caught hitting Cody with a belt and he’s been ejected. Cody’s words of Solo not being ready starting to ring true.

11:15 p.m. ET: Cody starting to heat up. He just sent Roman crashing through the announce table and nearly got the three-count in the ring.

10:56 p.m. ET: This is Roman’s seventh Wrestlemania main event, tying him with Triple H for second. Hulk Hogan has the all-time record with eight, but it’s up for debate if you want to count Wrestlemania 9.

10:51 p.m. ET: The Tribal Chief getting a piano orchestra and everyone is on their feet for him.

10:49 p.m. ET: Look at this man.

10:46 p.m. ET: The crowd is HOT for Cody.

10:42 p.m. ET: It’s here. It’s main event time. We might get a whole hour out of this.

10:42 p.m. ET: One last look at this year’s Hall of Fame class.

Edge vs. Finn Balor (Hell in a Cell match)

Winner: Edge via pinfall

10:22 p.m. ET: Edge puts Finn down with a Con-Chair-to and this match and year-long feud is over.

The was a solid Hell in a Cell match but the momentum was definitely killed with the medical staff tending to Finn for bleeding. I understand it’s a new era and they have to be really careful with blood, but c’mon man. It’s Hell in a Cell. It’s a literal blood feud. Still, good effort from both men and they can finally move to other programs.

10:15 p.m. ET: Well that’s not great.

9:59 p.m. ET: The silver cell is back. Nature is healing.

9:56 p.m. ET: Oh goodness, Shane McMahon actually blew out his knee.

9:52 p.m. ET: Hell in a Cell time. Already the penultimate match of the night.

Snoop Dogg vs. The Miz

Winner: Snoop Dogg via pinfall

9:51 p.m. ET: Snoop Dogg wins? Shane McMahon injures his knee and Snoop ends up knocking out the Miz and performing the People’s Elbow to win the match? Sure!

9:47 P.M. ET: We have ourselves a Wrestlemania 35 rematch between Shane McMahon and the Miz.

9:42 p.m. ET: Miz and Snoop back out to announce the attendance. Over 81K at SoFi Stadium tonight.

Raw Women’s Championship - Bianca Belair (c) vs. Asuka

Winner: Bianca Belair via pinfall

9:37 p.m. ET: Bianca able to avoid the mist and get out of the Asuka lock. She manages to get her up for the KOD to pick up the win. This was excellent stuff from both competitors here. I’d still put last night’s women’s title match ahead of it, but still a really good performance from both stars.

9:33 p.m. ET: Solid battle from both women so far.

9:18 p.m. ET: A kids step team for Bianca!

9:16 p.m. ET: We have an army of Asuka’s!

9:13 p.m. ET: Starting to kick things into high gear. Raw Women’s title match up next.

Intercontinental Championship - Gunther (c) vs. Drew McIntyre vs. Sheamus

Winner: Gunther via pinfall

9:09 p.m. ET: Five stars. The Ring General survives. My Goodness. That was every bit of the back alley brawl we expected from these three and then some. Gunther is solidified in this territory man. So, so good.

9:06 p.m. ET: Yup, this match is a banger. Literally. They are all in the zone.

9:00 p.m. ET: Sheamus punched McIntyre’s chest 29.5 times. This match rules.

8:57 p.m. ET: This what we came to see. The big lads chopping each other down. All of their chests are red.

8:44 p.m. ET: Titus O’Neil is back out on commentary. My man was jacked up for that men’s showcase match last night.

8:39 p.m. ET: Andre the Giant Battle Royal winner Bobby Lashley is out and he’s....just posing with the trophy? I thought he was going to challenge someone to a fight. That’s weird. Anyway, we’ll get the IC title triple-threat match next.

Ronda Rousey/Shayna Baszler vs. Liv Morgan/Raquel Rodriguez vs. Natalya/Shotzi vs. Chelsea Green/Sonya Deville (Women’s Wrestlemania Showcase match)

Winner: Ronda Rousey/Shayna Baszler via submission

8:34 p.m. ET: Rousey makes Shotzi tap to pick up the win. This was a fine showcase match. Not as action-packed as the one from Night 1, but all the women were working here. Again, another match that went only 10 minutes, so the later matches are getting plenty of time.

8:22 p.m. ET: Women’s tag team showcase match up next. We’ll see if we get some cool spots here.

8:20 p.m. ET: That match going short means we’re getting extended time for one of the marquee matches later on.

Brock Lesnar vs. Omos

Winner: Brock Lesnar via pinfall

8:18 p.m. ET: In and out in less than nine minutes. Lesnar topples Omos. He struggled to get off three German suplexes and managed to get the giant up for the F5 to pick up the win.

8:16 p.m. ET: Don’t think I’ve ever seen Brock Lesnar in a bear hug.

8:11 p.m. ET: My goodness, just look at these two lads.

8:07 p.m. ET: Miz and Snoop Dogg out once again to kick off Night 2.

8:02 p.m. ET: Jimmie Allen kicks off Night 2 with a rendition of America the Beautiful.

7:40 p.m. ET: Looks like we’ll get the battle of the hosses to start with Brock-Omos opening the show.

6:46 p.m. ET: The Tribal Chief is in the building.
