We’ve got 10 games on Friday’s NBA slate, anchored by a doubleheader on ESPN. Here’s a look at the day’s injury report, along with the relevant fantasy and betting implications.
NBA Injury Report: March 3
Jonathan Isaac (hamstring) - OUT, done for season
Update: Isaac will miss the rest of the season after he underwent groin surgery Friday, according to Adrian Wojnarowski. The forward missed most of the year recovering from a torn ACL and will now try to be ready for the 2023-24 season.
With Isaac out, Franz Wagner and Paolo Banchero will have most of the minutes at the swing positions for Orlando.
P.J. Washington (foot) - OUT
Update - As expected, Washington is out for Charlotte.
With Washington out, Kelly Oubre could start again. Gordon Hayward and JT Thor should also see more playing time.
Anfernee Simons (ankle) - OUT
Update - Simons has been ruled out, which was expected.
Simons aggravated his ankle issue when he returned to action Wednesday, and he’s set to miss this game. Shaedon Sharpe should see heavy minutes in this one and is a nice value add in DFS lineups.
Trae Young (groin) - available
Update - As expected, Young is in for the Hawks.
Young should be in. If he’s downgraded, Dejounte Murray would see more playing time as the Hawks’ lead point guard.
Derrick White (neck) - available
Malcolm Brogdon (ankle) - OUT
Update - Brogdon has been ruled out, opening up minutes for White and Pritchard in Boston’s backcourt.
Update - Brogdon is probable with an ankle injury. If he gets downgraded again, we may see more of Payton Pritchard in the rotation.
With White back in, Marcus Smart and Malcolm Brogdon will cede some playing time in the guard rotation.
Kyle Lowry (knee) - OUT, no timeline for return
Jimmy Butler (knee) - available
Update - Butler is in for the Heat and should shift this line towards Miami a bit. The two-way star will want to get this team trending in the right direction and needs a big home performance to do so.
Lowry remains out, elevating Gabe Vincent in the rotation for the foreseeable future. If Butler doesn’t play, Tyler Herro and Bam Adebayo will be the primary offensive initiators for Miami. The star forward has had knee issues for some time now and this could be standard aggravation.
Terrence Ross (toe) - OUT
Update - Ross is out, freeing up minutes for Okogie and Torrey Craig.
Josh Okogie will see more minutes if Ross is ruled out.
Jordan Clarkson (thumb) - OUT
Collin Sexton is also out, so Ochai Agbaji is likely to lead the offense here. The rookie should continue to see big minutes as the Jazz lean into the tank.
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander (abdominal, protocols) - OUT
SGA remains out, so Josh Giddey and Tre Mann will be the lead guards for the Thunder.
Michael Porter Jr. (injury management) - available
Aaron Gordon (ribs) - available
Update - Porter Jr. and Gordon are in for the Nuggets.
Both guys should be in for the Nuggets in this pivotal clash at the top of the West standings.
Jonas Valanciunas (calf) - OUT
Josh Richardson (personal) - OUT
Update - As expected, Valanciunas is out for New Orleans.
Update - Richardson has been ruled out, which elevates Devonte’ Graham and Trey Murphy in the rotation for New Orleans.
With Valanciunas still out, Willy Hernangomez and Jaxson Hayes are solid plays in the interior for New Orleans.
Jordan Poole (knee) - available
Klay Thompson (injury management) - available
Draymond Green (injury management) - available
Update - Everyone is in for Golden State.
We’ll see how the Warriors manage their guys on the second night of a back-to-back.
Kawhi Leonard (injury management) - OUT
Paul George (injury management) - available
Ivica Zubac (calf) - OUT
Marcus Morris (elbow) - OUT
Norman Powell (shoulder) - OUT
Update - Zubac is out, so Mason Plumlee gets the nod once again in the middle for LA.
Update - George is in and will be the focal point of this offense with Leonard out. Zubac is questionable, while Morris and Powell are also out. Terance Mann seems like the best value play at the moment, but Eric Gordon is also primed for big minutes here.
We’ll see how the Clippers handle their guys on the second night of a back-to-back set.
De’Aaron Fox (wrist) - available
Update - Fox went through shootaround this morning and has been listed as available. He may have some type of minutes limit but it seems like the Kings guard is ready to go and could be a nice DFS filler play tonight.
Fox is expected to play after sitting the last game with a wrist issue. If he doesn’t play, Davion Mitchell should once again get the start for the Kings.
Anthony Davis (foot) - available
D’Angelo Russell (ankle) - OUT
Dennis Schroder (ankle) - available
Update - Davis and Schroder are in for LA.
Russell is still out, so Schroder will likely start with Austin Reaves also getting big minutes in the backcourt. Davis will return, pushing Mo Bamba to the bench.
