The Army Black Knights and the Navy Midshipmen face off in the 124th meeting of the football programs in the historic Army-Navy game. Kickoff is scheduled for 3:00 p.m. ET from Gillette Stadium on Saturday, December 9. The game will air on CBS.

Army (5-6) defeated Coastal Carolina in their most recent game in a 28-21 win. The Knights went on a 3-0 run to wrap up November. Army attempted just two passes in their latest game, with one ending in an incompletion and the other in an interception. We can expect to see a big game from quarterback Bryson Daily, who leads the team in rushing yards (817) and rushing TDs (7) this season.

Navy (5-6) suffered a tough loss in their most recent game, falling 59-14 to SMU. The Midshipmen went 4-4 in conference play this season with victories over East Carolina, UAB, and North Texas, among others. Quarterback Xavier Arline took over from Tai Lavatai partway through the season and finished with 320 passing yards and 251 rushing yards.

Here’s everything you need to know and a pick for the game.

Our Best Bet for Army vs. Navy

Under 28

Last year’s overtime Army win marked the first time in 16 seasons that the game’s total hit the over. This year’s total brings us down to an even lower number than last year’s 32.5, but after 16 straight years of the under cashing, it feels sacrilegious to bet on anything else.

Both team’s defenses are significantly higher-ranked than their offenses, and in this rivalry battle, we’re going to see a hard-nosed battle that largely takes place on the ground rather than in the air. The lack of clock stoppages will keep the pace of the game moving fast, so go ahead and take the under — if for nothing else, for tradition.

Both teams are under .500 on hitting the over this season.
