NFL weather forecast for Week 14 Thursday Night Football, what it means for fantasy and betting

The weather report can impact fantasy football and betting. We break down the important information you need to prepare for Week 14’s Thursday Night Football matchup between the Steelers and Patriots at Acrisure Stadium.

Indianapolis Colts v Pittsburgh Steelers

The Pittsburgh Steelers host the New England Patriots on Thursday night to kick off Week 14 of the National Football League season. The current over-under for this game is a paltry 30 points, a historic low. But, they still have to play the game, so let’s see if the weather has anything to do with that low total.

Weather needs to be extreme to truly impact games, but when deciding between two players who you like equally, it might be a helpful tie breaker. What we really don’t want to see is 20 mph or higher wind speeds. Rain can cause problems, but unless it is a combination of high winds and rain, we usually don’t want to downgrade our fantasy football players too much.

Weather for Steelers vs. Patriots on Week 14 MNF

Western Pennsylvania will have highs around 46 degrees on Thursday, but the temperatures will fall as we close in on game-time. The low for the night is supposed to hit 36 degrees. Another thing that will fall as we get later are the wind speeds. During the day they’re supposed to be 9-13 mph, but with gusts up to 25 mph. The good news is that the winds are supposed to die down to 7-10 mph as we get into evening. There is also no chance for precipitation.

Fantasy/betting implications

Maybe the wind gusts stick around as the game kicks off, but I doubt we’ll see any sustained winds that will impact play. Overall, this forecast shouldn’t keep these teams from switching up their game plans.
