Depending on when your league begins its postseason, this could be the final week of the regular season. It’s always important to play the matchups when approaching fantasy football, and this week is no exception. Whether you need to secure a playoff spot still or if you are trying to set the best lineup possible, here are the three best matchups for quarterbacks in Week 14 fantasy football lineups.
Fantasy football, Week 14: Best QB Matchups
Dak Prescott vs. Philadelphia Eagles
This should be one of the best games of the week. Prescott is firmly in the MVP conversation and heads into this week as the overall QB3 in fantasy football. Since his bye in Week 7, he has been a top-three fantasy quarterback in five of six possible weeks. Prescott finished as the QB3 in Week 13 after completing 29 of his 41 passes for 299 yards and three touchdowns. He isn’t as much of a scrambler these days, but he added 23 yards on seven carries.
Despite having the best record in the league, the Philadelphia defense allows the most fantasy points per game to opposing quarterbacks. They are coming off a blowout loss to the San Francisco 49ers. Quarterback Brock Purdy finished 19-of-27 for 314 yards and four touchdowns.
Dorian Thompson-Robinson/Joe Flacco vs. Jacksonville Jaguars
Thompson-Robinson missed the Cleveland Browns’ Week 13 loss to the Los Angeles Chargers due to a concussion. He remains in the league’s protocols at the time of this writing but will have ample time to clear them through practice this week. The rookie has played in five games and has thrown for 429 yards with one touchdown and four interceptions.
Flacco signed with the Browns after starter Deshaun Watson was ruled out for the season. After spending a few weeks on the practice squad, he was elevated to the main roster in Week 13 after DTR was ruled to be in concussion protocol. Flacco played well for the majority of the game but had a costly interception late. He finished 23-of-44 for 254 yards with two touchdowns and the pick.
The Jaguars defense allows the third-most fantasy points to opposing quarterbacks. Jacksonville could also be without quarterback Trevor Lawrence, who has a high-ankle sprain. If backup quarterback C.J. Beathard is in the game and unable to extend drives, it could be a long day for the defense.
Justin Fields vs. Detroit Lions
Fields and the Chicago Bears are coming off their bye week. They don’t get any sort of warm-up out of the break, as they have an important divisional matchup from the jump. Chicago lost to Detroit in Week 11, but they had the lead until they allowed a touchdown with 29 seconds to go. Fields finished that game 16-of-23 for 169 yards with a touchdown and an additional 104 yards on 18 carries.
Fields finished as the overall QB8 when he last played Detroit and heads into this week as the overall QB22. The Lions allow the fourth-most fantasy points per game to opposing quarterbacks. Fields has upside if they allow him to scramble, but the matchup is at least favorable in a big game.
