The Pittsburgh Steelers (9-7) went to the Pacific Northwest on Sunday and left with a 30-23 victory over the Seattle Seahawks (8-8). They got work done on the ground as Najee Harris and Jaylen Warren combined for 197 rushing yards and three touchdowns in the win.
With the victory, Pittsburgh avoided possible elimination from postseason contention and stayed in the hunt for an AFC Wild Card spot. With this result, the Bengals have been eliminated from postseason contention with their loss to the Chiefs. The Steelers can clinch a playoff spot next week with a win and loss by either the Jaguars or the Bills.
With the loss, Seattle did not clinch a playoff spot, but still owns the final Wild Card spot in the NFC at the moment. This outcome helped clinch a playoff berth for the Rams, so the Seahawks will be fighting to maintain that final Wild Card spot next week.
Pittsburgh will visit Baltimore next Sunday and will most likely be facing the Ravens’ backups given that they’ve already secured the No. 1 seed in the AFC. Meanwhile, Seattle will close the regular season by visiting Arizona.
