The Indianapolis Colts defeated the Las Vegas Raiders 23-20 in Week 17 of the 2023 NFL season. Both teams needed a win to stay alive in the AFC playoff picture. Indy turns its attention to a big matchup against the Houston Texans in Week 18, while Las Vegas shifts its focus to the 2024 NFL Draft and offseason after being eliminated from playoff contention.
Indianapolis moves to 9-7 on the season and remains in play for not only the playoffs but for the AFC South division title. The Colts will clinch a playoff berth with a Week 18 win or tie. They can win the AFC South with a win or a tie and a Jacksonville Jaguars loss to the Tennessee Titans. For now, Indianapolis remains the No. 7 seed and in the last spot for the AFC. The highest they can move is the No. 4 seed if they can win the division, and that would guarantee them a home game in the first round of the playoffs. The Colts can still miss the playoffs if they lose to Houston next week and the Pittsburgh Steelers win over the Seattle Seahawks in Week 17 and/or the Baltimore Ravens in Week 18.
