The Miami Dolphins are cruising along and head into Week 17 with a chance to climb into first place atop the AFC playoff standings. They can’t clinch the top seed this weekend, but if they can beat the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday, they would move into a first place tie with Baltimore and hold the head-to-head tiebreaker.
The Dolphins currently hold a two-game lead on the Buffalo Bills with two weeks left in the season. Miami is traveling to face Baltimore and is a four-point underdog at DraftKings Sportsbook. If the Dolphins can pull off the upset, they won’t clinch the No. 1 seed but they will clinch the AFC East.
Even if the Dolphins lose, they can clinch the division if the Bills are upset in the same 1 p.m. window. Of course, the Bills are hosting the woeful New England Patriots and are 12 point favorites. It seems unlikely the Bills lose this one, but they did lose 29-25 when they played the Patriots on the road at Gillette Stadium. We’ve seen enough wild results this season that anything is possible on Sunday.
Sunday results: The Dolphins lost an ugly one to the Ravens while the Bills beat the Patriots. The AFC East will be on the line in Week 18 when the Dolphins host the Bills.
