The Green Bay Packers got back on the winning track last week, beating the Panthers on a last-second field goal. That snapped a two-game losing streak and kept their playoff hopes alive. They sit in tenth place in the NFC standings and need to win and get some help if they’re going to make the 2024 NFL Playoffs.
The Packers travel to face the Vikings in Week 17, closing out the week on Sunday Night Football. Green Bay is a 1.5-point underdog at DraftKings Sportsbook. They lost at home to the Vikings in Week 8. If they beat Minnesota, Green Bay would move up at least one spot, pending the outcome of the rest of the Week 17 slate. Here are the games Packers fans will want to pay attention to on Sunday.
Rams vs. Giants
Steelers vs. Seahawks
Result: The Rams barely beat the Giants, but it’s enough to put the Packers on the precipice of elimination. If Green Bay loses, they will be eliminated from playoff contention. The Seahawks lost to the Steelers in the 4 p.m. window.
LA and Seattle are both 8-7 and sit a game ahead of the Packers in the second and third wild card berths. The Packers hold the head-to-head tiebreaker over the Rams and sit half a game back of the Seahawks for the conference record tiebreaker. A Rams loss would move the Packers ahead with a win. The Packers need the Seahawks to lose in Week 18 to give them a chance to match the conference record tiebreaker, so for now this game has no impact outside of if the tiebreakers move further down the chain
Falcons vs. Bears
Result: Chicago crushed Atlanta on Sunday.
Green Bay lost to Atlanta, so they need to finish a full game ahead of them in the playoff standings. If the Packers win out, they just need the Falcons to lose one of their final two games. Atlanta is a field goal underdog.
Saints vs. Buccaneers
Result: The Saints went into Tampa and beat the Bucs on Sunday.
The Packers beat the Saints but lost to the Bucs. If the Packers win out, it makes sense for them to root for the Saints. If they beat the Bucs and then the Bucs lose a road game to Carolina in Week 18, the Packers would finish ahead of both teams.
Tampa Bay is a field goal favorite.
