The San Francisco 49ers suffered an ugly defeat on Christmas night, losing 33-19 to the Ravens. Brock Purdy had his worst game as a pro, throwing four interceptions with no touchdowns.

The 49ers dropped to 11-4 with the loss, but they remain in top spot in the NFC playoff standings. They are tied with the Eagles and Lions, but have secured the tiebreaker edge over both teams. They beat Philly in Week 13 and have a two-game lead over Detroit in the conference record tiebreaker.

In spite of the embarrassing defeat, the 49ers can clinch the No. 1 seed in the NFC with a win and some help in Week 17.

Sunday update: The 49ers handled their business and beat the Commanders. The Eagles lost a shocker to the Cardinals and that allowed the 49ers to clinch the No. 1 seed.

Saturday update: The Cowboys beat the Lions 20-19 after a blown call by the referees cost Detroit a game-winning two-point conversion. With the loss, the 49ers can clinch the No. 1 seed on Sunday with a win over the Commanders and an Eagles loss to the Cardinals.
