The 2023-24 College Football Playoff is set and the first semifinal matchup will feature the No. 1 Michigan Wolverines facing the No. 4 Alabama Crimson Tide in Pasadena, California at the Rose Bowl on Monday, January 1. The game will kick off at 5 p.m. ET and will air on ESPN.

Michigan (13-0) is back in the College Football Playoffs for a third straight year after posting another perfect season in the Big Ten. The Wolverines rampaged through their competition all season long despite the sign-stealing scandal that dominated headlines through the back half of the schedule.

Alabama (12-1) looked like they were in for a down year when they lost to Texas in Week 2 and struggled against South Florida in Week 3. They turned around their season and capped it off by giving Georgia its first loss in its last 30 games. The Crimson Tide were impressive enough in the SEC Championship Game to warrant jumping an undefeated Florida State in the standings.
