For four years, James Conner was the toast of Pittsburgh by rushing for more than 2,300 yards while netting a Pro Bowl berth. He’ll make his first return to the Steel City this Sunday with the Arizona Cardinals; here’s a look at if he’s worth a start this week.
Fantasy Football analysis: Cardinals RB James Conner
Conner’s coming off a week where he recorded just 27 yards on the ground, and has recorded just 162 yards on the ground in the three weeks since he’s returned from injury.
Start or sit in Week 13 PPR leagues?
Conner is RB37 this year, which is due in large part to his start to the season where he had two touchdowns in the first three weeks along with recording two games with 90+ yards rushing. While he hasn’t been the same running back since returning from injury, but will be going against a Steelers defense that’s surrendered 19.4 fantasy points per game. Conner also had four catches last week, so I like his PPR value.
Start or sit in Week 13 standard leagues?
I’d still start Conner in standard leagues, though I do think it should be as an RB3/FLEX option. Conner’s had double-digit carries in two of his last three games, and I don’t think this game will be a blowout, which means he shouldn’t get scripted out.
Player(s) you would start ahead of Conner
FantasyPros has Conner ranked as RB24 this week where he’s between Joe Mixon and Jerome Ford. I’d start Ford over Conner, but outside of that I’d consider Conner a must-start from this tier.
