There are still six weeks left in the NFL’s regular season, but we have our first chance at a team clinching a playoff spot. The Philadelphia Eagles, and their 10-1 record, will host the San Francisco 49ers this week with a shot at the playoffs in the mix. They do need to win or at least tie, but regardless still need some help to lock down a spot in Week 13.
Philadelphia Eagles Playoff Clinching Scenarios - Week 13
- PHI win + LAR loss or tie
- PHI win + DET loss + GB loss or tie
- PHI tie + LAR loss + GB loss or tie + ATL loss or tie
- PHI tie + LAR loss + GB loss or tie + NO loss or tie
The game against San Francisco is arguably an NFC Championship Game preview. Despite Philadelphia being at home, the Eagles are the 2.5-point underdogs at DraftKings Sportsbook. We haven’t had a tie since last season, but while many would say that means we are due, it is much more likely that we will be dealing with one of the first two scenarios.
The Los Angeles Rams will face the Cleveland Browns this week. The injury woes continue for Cleveland as backup quarterback Dorian Thompson-Robinson and Amari Cooper are dealing with injuries that could force even more depth into the starting lineup against a tough Rams defense. Los Angeles is the 3.5-point favorite as of Tuesday night, but that will likely move depending on who is able to suit up.
The Green Bay Packers will welcome the Kansas City Chiefs to town for quarterback Patrick Mahomes’ first game at Lambeau Field for this week’s edition of Sunday Night Football. The Packers are coming off back-to-back wins, with the more recent being a big divisional victory over the Detroit Lions. They are 6-point underdogs against the Chiefs.
The Atlanta Falcons are on the road against the New York Jets. The Falcons are 3-point favorites on the road despite the stout Jets’ defense. Even though Atlanta’s offense has been largely mismanaged regarding running back Bijan Robinson, it is still better than a New York offense led by Tim Boyle under center.
The New Orleans Saints are also dealing with injuries as Chris Olave, and Rashid Shaheed left their last game with an injury. They will have to deal with a good Detroit Lions defense. Detroit is the away team and is still the 4-point favorite in this matchup.
