How can Ravens clinch the AFC North and the No. 1 seed in Week 17?

We discuss the scenarios that could see the Baltimore Ravens clinching the AFC North and home field advantage in Week 17.

The Baltimore Ravens made a statement in Week 16 when they beat the 49ers 33-19. The Ravens defense picked off Brock Purdy four times and dominated the team many thought was the best team in the league. They improved to 12-3 with the win and moved a step closer to securing strong playoff positioning in the final weeks of the season.

The Ravens have a one-game lead on the Dolphins for the No. 1 seed and a two-game lead on the Browns in the AFC North. Baltimore has already clinched a playoff berth and can potentially clinch the AFC North and No. 1 seed in Week 17.

Sunday update: The Ravens crushed the Dolphins to clinch the AFC North and the No. 1 seed.

Thursday update: The Browns beat the Jets, which means the Ravens need to beat the Dolphins to clinch the AFC North on Sunday.

Baltimore Ravens playoff clinching scenarios - Week 17

Baltimore clinches AFC North division title with:

  • BAL win or tie, OR
  • CLE loss or tie

Baltimore clinches AFC’s No. 1 seed, lone first-round bye and homefield advantage with:

  • BAL win

The Ravens host the Dolphins on Sunday and are a four-point favorite at DraftKings Sportsbook. If Miami wins, they’ll move into a tie with Baltimore and secure the head-to-head tiebreaker. The Dolphins would not be able to clinch the No. 1 seed until Week 18.

The Browns are hosting the Jets on Thursday Night Football and are 7.5-point favorites. The Browns have won three straight to climb into the top wild card spot. The Jets beat the Commanders last week after getting eliminated from playoff contention the week prior.
