Last week, we whiffed on a few value plays, though the Colts had RB Jonathan Taylor back, which made Trey Sermon a non-factor. We did do well with the Chuba Hubbard play against the Green Bay Packers. He finished with over 50 total yards and a TD in the close loss. Roschon Johnson got the touches for the Bears but wasn’t the feature back with Khalil Herbert leading the way. In Week 17, we’ll try and get some more value plays right on the Sunday main slate on DraftKings. Let’s take a look.
NFL DFS Picks, Week 17: RB value plays
Antonio Gibson, WAS vs. SF, $5,200
The Commanders are reeling going into their final two games in a lost season. QB Jacoby Brissett will take over for Sam Howell as the starter vs. the Niners this week. That’s a plus if Brissett can keep the offense on the field longer. San Francisco is a tough matchup but if we see some garbage time, that could be good for Washington’s offense. Brian Robinson Jr. could be out again and now backup RB Chris Rodriguez Jr. is banged up. Gibson could be the last man standing for Washington. Even if C-Rod and/or Robinson ends up being healthy, you’d think Gibson gets a lot of snaps in passing situations with Washington trailing. Gibson has a good floor on DK if he can get a handful of receptions.
Zamir White, LVR vs. IND, $5,100
Assuming Josh Jacobs sits again, White will be a very popular RB play on DraftKings this week. He’s posted back-to-back weeks with 17.5 fantasy points exactly. Last week in a surprise win over the Kansas City Chiefs on the road, White willed the offense to a victory late, finishing with 22 carries for 145 yards. The Colts had a very difficult time containing the Falcons’ run game last week, allowing 5.9 yards per carry on 30 attempts. If Jacobs is out again, White should be a top RB value again.
La’Michal Perine, KC vs. CIN, $4,500
The Chiefs aren’t going to have RB Jerick McKinnon, who was placed on injured reserve prior to Week 16. Kansas City also lost RB Isiah Pacheco during their loss to the Raiders on Monday afternoon. Pacheco has a concussion and it may be difficult for him to clear in time for Week 17 vs. the Bengals. Perine was signed prior to Week 16 to the active roster and played a few snaps. RB Clyde Edwards-Helaire should lead the way but Andy Reid likes to use multiple personnel in the backfield. Perine could see work as the passing-down back with CEH as the lead back. If Pacheco is out, Perine could see upwards of 20-25 snaps and make for a decent value.
