Cavaliers vs. Mavericks pick against the spread, over/under for Wednesday, December 27

We go over some of the best betting options for Wednesday’s matchup between the Cavaliers and Mavericks.

Dallas Mavericks v Phoenix Suns

Update: Doncic is in for the Mavericks, and Green has also been listed as available after initially being listed as out. Mitchell has been ruled out for the Cavaliers, while LeVert is in. The line is now Mavericks -6.5 and I’m still rolling with Dallas. The total is 232.5, and I like the under with Mitchell out of the lineup for Cleveland.

The Cleveland Cavaliers (17-13) will look to pull off another upset when they visit the Dallas Mavericks (18-12) Wednesday evening. The Cavaliers shocked the Bulls in their last meeting despite being down three starters, while the Mavericks are on a two-game winning streak after knocking off the Suns on Christmas Day. This is the first meeting between these teams this season.

Darius Garland and Evan Mobley remain sidelined for Cleveland, while Donovan Mitchell and Caris LeVert are questionable. Luka Doncic is questionable for the Mavericks while Josh Green is out. Kyrie Irving and Maxi Kleber remain sidelined with long-term injuries.

The Mavericks are 3.5-point favorites at DraftKings Sportsbook, with the total coming in at 230.5. Dallas is -170 on the moneyline while Cleveland is +142.

Cavaliers vs. Mavericks, 8:30 p.m. ET

Pick ATS: Mavericks -3.5

Cleveland could be getting Mitchell back as he battles an illness, which would help. The Cavaliers are 5-3 ATS as the road underdog this season, but it’s hard to project this team with Garland and Mobley both out. The Mavericks are 6-8 ATS at home, but 5-5 ATS as the home favorite. If Doncic is able to suit up, I like Dallas to win and cover in this one.

Over/Under: Under 230.5

Dallas is 19-11 to the over this season, but has gone under its totals in four of the last five games. The Cavaliers had four straight overs before hitting an under in their last game with Mitchell, Garland and Mobley all out. The Mavericks are 9-5 to the over as the home team this season but I like this game to actually go under the total. There’s some blowout potential with Cleveland down two starters, and Dallas is in the midst of a streak of hitting unders.
