The Oklahoma State Cowboys take on the Texas A&M Aggies in the Texas Bowl on Wednesday, December 27. Kickoff is scheduled for 9:00 p.m. ET from NRG Stadium in Houston, Texas.

Oklahoma State (9-4, 7-2 Big XII) reached the Big 12 Championship Game, where they fell to Texas 49-21. The Cowboys’ biggest wins of the season include Oklahoma, Kansas, and Kansas State, and they fell to UCF, Iowa State, and most unexpectedly, South Alabama. The Cowboys were led by quarterback Alan Bowman, who finished the season with over 3,000 passing yards, and Doak Award winner Ollie Gordon, who rushed for over 1,600 yards and 20 touchdowns.

Texas A&M (7-5, 4-4 SEC) fired head coach Jimbo Fisher after the season and hired former defensive coordinator Mike Elko out of Duke. The Aggies lost quite a few starters to the transfer portal after the regular season ended, most notably quarterback Max Johnson and his top two receivers of 2023 — one of whom is opting out to prepare for the NFL Draft. A&M wrapped up their season with a loss to LSU and also fell to Alabama, Tennessee, and Miami.

Here’s everything you need to know and a pick for the bowl.

Our Best Bet for the Texas Bowl

Oklahoma State +2

The Aggies are losing several key offensive players in this matchup, and the Cowboys were able to pull off some big wins this season. With more of their starters sticking around for the bowl game, I like Oklahoma State to cover and pull off the win in Houston.
