The Boston Celtics and Los Angeles Lakers will headline the NBA’s Christmas Day slate when the league’s most storied rivalry gets renewed. Here’s a look at some of our favorite player props for the day’s slate, with odds courtesy of DraftKings Sportsbook.
Jaylen Brown over 23.5 points (-120)
The forward has found his scoring touch of late, averaging 27.8 points per game over his last four and topping this line in each game. Even with Jayson Tatum averaging 26.9 points per game, Brown has found a way to produce offensively. In two games against the Lakers last season, Brown went for 25 and 37 points respectively. He’s a strong candidate to go over his points prop.
LeBron James over 44.5 points + rebounds + assists (-135)
This is a showcase event for James and while he may say he doesn’t care about the spotlight, he usually finds a way to shine in these moments. The King averaged 37 points, nine rebounds and 8.5 assists in two contests against Boston a year ago, and is coming off a 40-point showing in a win over the Thunder. As long as the game remains close, James should be able to cross this line without much trouble.
Jrue Holiday over 4.5 assists (-115)
The Lakers are a strong defensive outfit at home this season, ranking 11th in opponent assists allowed. However, this line is too low for Holiday. The guard hasn’t turned into a true de-facto distributor yet, but we’re starting to see signs he could become that with Brown and Tatum settling into scoring roles. Holiday has dished out 17 assists over the last two games, and should be able to get at least five on Christmas Day.
